A Sustainable Landscaping Option

By Andy Torrez | GreenTech TV

With summer around the corner, homeowners will be looking to upgrade their backyards and front yards.

But for most homeowners who are tired of losing their lawn to the hot weather and those who are trying to conserve water during the dry season, options are limited on how to create an attractive yard.

One of the most popular options is to use less grass in a yard and to fill empty space with rocks or stones that don’t require watering and can survive any weather.

Recycled Aggregate Materials Company (RAMCO) offers a sustainable option to those looking to create an environmentally-friendly landscape.

The company’s GreenRock is a decorative rock landscaping solution that is made of recycled concrete. Each ½ cubic feet bag of GreenRock is made of recycled concrete roofing tiles, concrete paving stones and concrete blocks.

The rocks come in two sizes: a 3/8” fine size or a 1” coarse size. RAMCO suggests using the lining paths and walkways with the fine size and using the coarse size for large flower beds or entire yards.

"By diverting waste concrete from landfills, we're able to create a completely earth-friendly solution for both residential and commercial landscape projects," says Kenneth Newman, Executive Vice President of RAMCO.
