SilverPac Launches the Latest in Household Thermostats

SilverPac is setting out to replace standard household thermostats with the SilverSTAT 7, an advanced Smart Energy Thermostat.  The SilverSTAT 7 is a home climate control system that provides an intelligent 7 day programmable thermostat to help monitor both utility usage and expenses.

According to SilverPac, the SilverSTAT 7’s Smart Energy In-Home Display (IHD) features:

- 7” Touch LCD
- Windows Embedded CE 6.0 R3
- 128 MB – 4GB Flash Memory (upgrades required)
- 64 MB – 128 MB DDR RAM (upgrades required)
- 1x USB (Standard A)
- 802.11g Wi-Fi interface for home and internet networking connection
- IEEE 802.15.4 ZigBee wireless interface to monitor Smart Meters
- Digital Clock, Calendar, Scheduler, Task Manager for Home Control and More

The 7” touch screen display identifies the household energy usage with individual devices. The wireless interface connects the SilverSTAT7 to new smart meters, allowing information on real-time electricity and gas use to be sent directly to utility companies.

SilverPac encourages customers to live a greener lifestyle by reducing energy usage during peak energy demand periods.  By providing an instantaneous view of the ongoing energy usage and pricing of appliances, clients can proactively make changes.

According to SilverPac, the SilverSTAT 7 communicates with the home network and internet services through its Wi-Fi Interface. This Smart Energy Thermostat hosts various smart gadgets which feature streaming photos, music and content from Live.com and from the PC.

The incorporated Windows technology helps users control their access to email, stock prices, real-time weather forecasting, and billing and price schedules for energy providers.  Providing cross-functional support, the customer is able to complete many tasks without having to use other tools, such as a computer which will consume more energy.
